Back in 1987, In Thunder Bay,

Ontario Canada, the annual Festa Italiana was held, sponsored by the Italian Society of Port Arthur. A workshop was organized with the help of Mr. John Potestio, Mr. Benny Melchiorre and Mr. Sam Federico, together with S.A.Y.A., Saint Anthony Young Adults, under the direction of Father Dino Cicconi, and Father Hermente Nazzani.

The workshop held at Saint Anthony's featured guest speaker Maria Ariganello. Her presentation focused on the changes in values within North America and was beautifully and simply presented with a metaphor reflected in the style of two breads.

OLD World Traditional Culture was represented by "The Traditional Italian Bread", rustic, natural, and hearty - full of life enriching elements.

Modern North American Culture was reflected in "the different" bread they found in this country. It was " perfectly" white bread, perfectly sliced, perfectly white, and perfectly soft.

It was years later that Ms. Ariganello appreciated the value of traditonal valued culture, and how the bread of this modern culture, "this perfect white" bread was void of life+sustaining nutrients; yes a paradox.

<>As the moderator of the workshop, this research paper summarizes the research that followed. Research that investigated the negative social pressures on the traditional family unit. A journey into the deceptive world of half-truths, and paradigm paralysis, that eventually led to correcting the definitions of the concepts half-truth, lie and truth and creating a new philosophy, "Thinking in Color", and perhaps proving that the 'original sin' remains with us today; truth can lie we are not God to know The Truth.

This is that story and the observations along that way !
