  Vice President Tony Andreachi, representing the Italian Society of Port Arthur, on the right, exchanges the Italian flag with President Ilka Ovaska, representing the Bay Credit Union, who exchanges the Finnish flag. The Bay Credit Union, founded by the local Finnish-Canadian community, had celebrated their 75th anniversary. If you are in the area of Bay and Algoma Streets, you will note that the Italian Hall is located on almost half of the city block, sharing it with the Finlandia Club, located on Bay Street and home of the Hoito Restaurant, world famous for its Finnish made pancakes.

Mario Nucci - 4 weeks at Queens Park

Mario Nucci Jr.

Student , Mario Nucci from St. Ignatious High School spent several weeks at Queen's Park this past June. Mario spent the time working with the provinces members of Parliment and acting as messangers for them.

Young Mario Nucci, plans on entering politics or becoming an oncologist. After a cousin's experience with cancer he became interested in studing the disease and hoping one day to find a cure for it.

Mario's parents are Sandy (Joe's brother) and Mary( nee Kolic )Nucci, his grandparents are Mario Nucci Sr (son of Santo Nucci di Malito, and Louisa Milinazzo di Grimaldi ) and Elizabeth Funaro (daughter of Francesco Funaro and Francesca Giardino di Grimaldi ).
